Known Beta Limitations

These are real limitations in the current version. We're being upfront about them so you know what to expect.

Quick Tips

  • Protect your data: Don't clear browser data if you have important care info stored. Export features are coming.
  • Morning routine: Make it a habit to open the app first thing and check Today at a Glance until real notifications arrive.
  • Same browser: Always use the same browser on the same device to access your data consistently.
  • Schedule regeneration: If you add a new medication, tap "Regenerate Schedule" in the Schedule section to update your day.
Got questions?
We've got answers.
Is Sela really free?
Yes - completely free, no credit card, no account required. Just open the app in your browser and start. The core features will always be free. Optional paid features like cloud backup and SMS reminders are coming later and will be clearly labeled.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Sela requires no account, no login, and no email address to use. You open it and it works. Your data is stored directly on your device.
Where is my data stored? Is it private?
All data you enter is stored only in your browser on your device using local storage. It is never transmitted to any server, never shared, and never archived anywhere outside your device. If you clear your browser data or switch browsers, data will not carry over - that's why cloud backup is a top priority for our next update.
Can I manage more than one patient?
Yes. You can add multiple patients and switch between them instantly from the home screen. This is useful if you're caring for both parents, for a parent and a spouse, or for multiple clients as a professional caregiver.
Will the app send me reminders when medications are due?
Yes. In-app notifications are active. SMS reminders are coming with the Plus plan in Fall 2026 for caregivers who want alerts on their phone even when the app isn't open.
Can I use Sela on multiple devices?
Not yet. Because data is currently stored locally on each device, information entered on your phone won't appear on your tablet or computer. Multi-device sync is coming with the Plus plan in Fall 2026.
Can I share access with another family member?
Not yet. Sela is currently single-user. Care sharing - where you can share a patient's dashboard with a sibling or another caregiver - is planned for the Family plan launching in Fall 2026.
Is Sela a medical app?
No. Sela is an organizational and tracking tool for caregivers. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for professional medical care. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.
What does "AI-powered" mean in Sela?
Sela currently uses Care Insights - built-in analysis that surfaces patterns in your logged pain and vitals data without requiring AI. It flags trends, shifts, and changes worth paying attention to. Full AI features (pain pattern analysis, care journal summaries via Claude by Anthropic) are in development and will be available in a future update.
How do I report a bug or problem?
Use the "Report a Bug" button visible in the app itself - it takes less than a minute and goes directly into our issue tracker. You can also use the bug report form at the top of this page.
